Deferment, approved leave from studies, withdrawal from studies

Sometimes as a student you might get in a situation that means you cannot start or complete your studies. Here you can get guidance on which option that might be most suitable for you.

Deferment of studies

An admitted student may apply for a deferral of studies which may be granted if there are particular reasons.

Approved leave from studies

A student planning to take a temporary break from studies can apply for approved leave from studies.

Withdrawal from a freestanding course

If you've registered for a course and then decided you no longer wish to attend, you report a withdrawal from studies.

Withdrawal from a programme

Withdrawal of studies implies that you resign your place.
